Big Willies, Really Gay Coffee & Copious Cocktails

Before our first big abroad trip as part of D'licious Magazine's new travel options, we decided to do a little mini break to Cardiff. Four caking friends, a tonne of cocktails and four days in Cardiff - what could go wrong?
Kelly Jane (D'licious Magazine), Chloe Cheshire (Yes, it's cake), Victoria White (Victoria White Cake Design) and Debbie Lock (Little Barn Cakes) traveled from various areas of the UK and met in Cardiff earlier this week for four days of sun, fun, friendship and cocktails.
Having arrived late on the Monday it was Chinese take out, gins and games at the house for night one! The next day we headed into Cardiff city centre and did some sight-seeing and shopping. Cardiff has a fabulous array of shops from the usual big brand and chains to amazing little boutique shops, independent cafes and more. We loved the inclusiveness of Cardiff from its rainbow pedestrian crossing to The Queer Emporium (@thequeeremporium) which caught our attention thanks to its 'really gay coffee served here' sign.
We stopped at The Botanist (@thebotanistcardiff) for some brunch, then hit the bars for a cocktail crawl. We didn't get too far as we fell in love with the third bar we went to (Parallel by Pasture @parallelcardiff) - and stayed there for the rest of the day enjoying drinks and food in the sunshine!
We headed back to our digs to change ready for the main event of the night - seeing Big Willie himself (Will Smith) perform at Cardiff Castle (@officialcardiffcastle @DEPOTLive @WillSmith). Obviously we had matching t-shirts for the night!
Supported by Nile Rodgers and Chic, the gig was amazing! (@NileRodgersOfficial @TheCHICOrganization). The production was incredible and the atmosphere was electric. Men In Black and Work of Art were two highlights of the evening! We spent the night singing and dancing and made some new friends along the way!
When the gig ended, we weren't quite ready to finish the party, so headed to Revolution (@revolution.cardiff) and danced until the small hours thanks to the best DJ, who literally played every single request we made! There were photo opportunities in the bath tub(?!) and photo booth and we had sparklers and confetti cannons - it was certainly one to remember!
The next day, after a nice lie-in, we took a road trip to Burnham-on-Sea to visit Dusica Roberts at DusiCake (@dusicake). Coffee and cake were very much needed after our long night the night before and we can report that the cakes were delicious! After a catch up and an Italian meal at a local restaurant we headed back to Cardiff for our final night together.
On our final day we hit the town again - coffee and breakfast were on the cards first. Sadly the nice weather didn't last and as the rain descended, we decided to get matching tattoos. Cue the nerves! We booked into Keep the Faith tattoo studio (@keepthefaithsocialclub) and the lovely Shaun tattooed the four of us in record time!
Final drinks together and a bite of lunch and we headed off our separate ways - until the next one!!
