A single entry for the 2026 Beginner Sugar Art of the Year category.
You MUST be a beginner to enter this category. For this competition, beginners are classed as someone who has been in the industry for less than 1 year. If you do not meet this criteria please enter the main Sugar Art of the Year category instead. Please note we reserve the right to move your entry to the main Sugar Art of the Year category if we believe you do not fit the criteria outlined. If you are in any doubt please see the FAQ below or email us.
You may enter as many pieces as you like but you must purchase ONE ENTRY PER PIECE. Please see below for instructions on how to complete your entry.
RULES:
Only pieces made between 15th November 2025 and 15th November 2026 will be accepted.
Pieces submitted must be your own work and must be covered or finished in edible materials. Decorative pieces and covered dummies are allowed.
Photographs with logos will NOT be accepted.
You may enter pieces that were created for customer orders, showpieces, collaborations, other online or in-person competitions.
Collaborative pieces are allowed but full names of all persons involved (maximum of 3) must be listed on the entry and all persons involved must be beginners (see definition below for what classes as a beginner).
TO COMPLETE YOUR ENTRY:
Once you have purchased your entry please email editor@dlicious-magazine.co.uk with the following information.
Your order number
How you would like your FULL NAME and COMPANY NAME displayed should you be selected as a finalist
Your country
Your social media links and / or website if applicable
The name of your piece (if you have not given your piece a name please give it one for this competition)
ONE FULL LENGTH photograph of your piece WITHOUT logos or people in view
Up to 3 MAXIMUM additional photographs of your piece (from different angles or of details) WITHOUT logos or people in view (if you are selected as a finalist you will have the opportunity to submit further photographs and information about your piece)
Confirmation that you are a Beginner (less than 1 year in the industry) and have not entered this category before.
Note: If you have entered the Beginners Sugar Art of the Year previously then you are not eligible to enter again and will need to enter the main Sugar Art of the Year category instead.
BEGINNER FAQ:
I have been making cakes for more than one year but have been in business for less than a year - can I still enter this category?
NO - YOU WILL NEED TO ENTER THE MAIN CATEGORY INSTEAD.
I have never entered a competition before / this year is my first time entering a competition but I have been in the industry for more than 1 year - can I still enter this category?
NO - YOU WILL NEED TO ENTER THE MAIN CATEGORY INSTEAD.
I started in the industry in November last year and I entered the Beginner Sugar Art competition last year. Can I enter the Beginner category again as I am still within the 1 year?
NO - you can only enter this category for one year. If you have entered it before you must now enter the main Sugar Art of the Year category.
